The Dales are a spectacular region filled with wonders and delights. Visit Knaresborough for the peculiar preserving well of Old Mother Shipton’s Cave and then head to the city of York for the impressive York Minster, old city walls and a visit to the Shambles – a unique street with overhanging wood-timbered buildings dating from as far back as the 14th century. Likewise, a tour around the snickelways of the city prove to be a unique experience, as is dining by candlelight in the Guy Fawkes Inn – the birthplace of one of the UK’s most infamous conspirators in the Gunpowder Plot.
The rolling green hills and vast farmland of Wiltshire is perfect for those who love to get outside and into nature. Take a drive around the White Horses of Wiltshire, some of which date back over 250 years! They can be found at Westbury, Cherhill, Alton Barnes, Hackpen, Marlborough, Broadtown, Pewsey and Devizes and provide interesting viewing as well as a great road trip around this gorgeous county. Visit the beautiful town of Bradford-on-Avon, set in the hillside on a river with its ancient tea rooms and beautiful cobbled streets, it’s like something from a fairytale.
